MOJO AM730 is changing … again.

May 31st, 2006 No comments

So yesterday morning I was listening to Mojo 730 (Sports) on my way into work as usual. Then when I leave work I did the same .. but to my surprise it was just soft rock with some commercials intermixed about a change coming.

Today I found an article in the Vancouver Sun that sheds some light on the subject:

Vancouver’s lowest-rated radio station, Mojo Sports Radio (AM 730), was yanked off the air Tuesday as its parent company announced it is scrapping current programming in favour of a continuous traffic report format, pulling the plug on several veteran sports personalities — including John McKeachie and JP McConnell.

Full article

Sounds like they’ll still be covering the Vancouver Giants games though…

The station will also broadcast play-by-play Vancouver Whitecaps, Giants and Seattle Seahawks games, as well as delayed CKNW programs.

Apparently they had the lowest ratings of any Vancouver Radio Station. Sorry to see them go. We’ll miss you Moj!

Vancouver Giants miss the finals

May 27th, 2006 No comments

The Vancouver Giants lost to the Moncton Wildcats 3-1.

This also seems the last outing for 3 over-agers in Giants uniforms that will be muchly missed: Paul Albers, Mitch Bartley, and Brett Parker.Vancouver is hosting the Memorial Cup next year, so we’ll have a good chance to see them fight for it again.

A great year of Giants hockey is behind us and we can’t forgot the great Playoff strech that seems them win the WHL championship after only 5 years in the league. Congratulations to all the Vancouver Giants Players, Coaches and Support Staff. You have brought a wonderful game to Vancouver. Keep it up.
See you at the rink next year.

ok well i’m working on the new icons. One of which is in my other post that i updated. Got one to show pretty soon, just trying to get a common format to deal with so that they all follow suit with eachother. i hate small discrepancies, and i’m just waiting to work on the tiny details. I think it’s turned out pretty well and should be able for viewing soon. Either tonight or by end of tomorrow. Later.

Update May 28/06:

OK well here are the two icons. The one you’ve seen before but it’s been worked into a template now so it’s more in line with the other one, and whatever icons may also be created.
